Ontario-Licensed Gambling Sites
The regulated online gambling system in Ontario (Canada) is managed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) under Ontario Regulation 460/20 and came into effect on April 4, 2022. From this date, the province officially opened the market to private operators: all gambling and sportsbook sites operating in Ontario must be registered with AGCO, comply with anti-money laundering, player protection, and game integrity requirements, and implement responsible gambling programs.
To verify a site's legality, simply:
- Go to the AGCO portal in the "Internet Gaming" – "Registry of Internet Gaming Site Operators" section.
- Enter the operator's name or website URL in the search form.
- Make sure it appears as "Registered" in the search results and get its registration number.
A legal operator also displays the AGCO/iGaming Ontario logo and copies of its registration documents on its own website, and verifies user age and geolocation before play.
