Gambling sites under Malta MGA license
The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) is Malta's gambling regulator, established in 2001 (initially as the Lotteries and Gaming Authority). Immediately after the adoption of the Lotteries and Gaming Act 2001, the MGA was the first in the European Union to issue licenses for online gambling.
An MGA license allows online casinos to operate in countries where such licenses are accepted (especially within the EU, thanks to the principle of freedom to provide services). However, some jurisdictions (for example, France and Germany) have strict online gambling restrictions and do not recognize MGA licenses there.
