The City of Dreams is a resort and casino in Macau that was opened in 2009 and is owned by Melco Crown Entertainment. It is the third largest casino in the world and the resort includes the Countdown Hotel, the Nüwa Hotel and the Grand Hyatt Macau. The Morpheus hotel is also located here and opened in 2018. Chef Alain Ducasse has two restaurants and a bar here. There is also a large casino floor, more than 200 shops and it is known for its Countdown clock that counts down the time until special events start in the City of Dreams.

Casino Games in the City of Dreams

On the main casino floor there are over 450 gaming tables and around 1,500 slots and electronic table games. You can enjoy Baccarat, Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, War and Sic Bo. Poker variations include 3 Card, Texas Hold´em, Caribbean Stud and Omaga Hi Lo. The range of slots include the top games from the best developers in the industry and you can also play Video Poker and Live Dealer eBaccarat. There are also three high limit areas, the Li Ying Room, High Limit East and High Limit West where the minimum bets range from $1,000 to $5,000.

VIP guests can enjoy the exclusive gaming area of the Signature Club. It has 3 private table game rooms and 2 slot machine rooms. Morpheus hotel has a private gaming floor and eight private gaming rooms that are connected to six of the hotels luxury villas and are exclusively for their use. The Li Ying Club is an in-house gaming club brand of Melco Resorts.

Casino Shows

The Grand Hyatt Macau in the City of Dreams is home to “The House of Dancing Water Theatre” which is a permanent award winning acrobatic show that is performed in an enormous pool of water. The seating area of the 270 degree theatre holds up to 2,000 people, including 70 VIP seats, and visitors thoroughly enjoy the show with its atmospheric, fire and water effects.

Accomodation at the City of Dreams

There are three hotels inside the City of Dreams. The Nüwa is reopening in Autumn 2020 and was inspired by the heroine Nüwa from Chinese mythology. It pays homage to Asia´s rich cultural heritage and is described as a place where the past is reimagined and luxury redefined. There are headcrafted details throughout the more than 270 guest rooms and 33 luxury villas. To relax and rejuvinate you can enjoy the facilities in the Nüwa Spa and Fitness Centre, take a dip in the pool or get a new hairstyle in the Salon.

The Countdown hotel has 326 rooms with amazing views of Cotai. This unconventional and stylish hotel also has a pool, jacuzzi and fitness centre for guests to enjoy. However, if you are in need of some pampering or relaxation then the Spa has plenty of massage and beauty therapies for you to choose from as well as a swimming pool and gym.

Morpheus is a futuristic hotel that features high speed lifts with panoramic views and 772 guest rooms, including 181 suites and 9 villas that connect to private salons or private interior pools. Additional features include a rooftop swimming pool, a state of the art Fitness Club and a luxurous and serene Spa that has a wide range of treatments, a vitality pool and body massage showers.

The Grand Hyatt Macau has over 790 guest rooms and appeals to both leisure and business guests. It has almost 8,000 m2 of space with 15 individual function areas that are ideal for meetings and events for up to 2,500 guests. The Isala Spa has many different relaxation treatments, an outdoor hot tub, a fitness centre and a swimming pool for guests to enjoy.

Bars and Restaurants

There are many different restaurants and bars that are spread throughout the City of Dreams. You can choose to eat numerous types of cuisine from some of the top Chefs in the World or grab a Haagen Dazs Ice Cream or a tasty Starbucks to keep you going.

Jade Dragon is a 3 Michelin Star Chinese restaurant that is located on level 2 of the City of Dreams. You can choose from various menus including a set tasting menu, a la carte, dim sum and seasonal healing soup. There is also a dessert menu and various promotional dishes that are available throughout the year.

Din Tai Fung offers cuisine from Taiwan and is located in Soho, the City of Dreams. This 1 Michelin Star restaurant features Crab and Pork Dumplings, Noodles with spicy sesame and peanut sauce, Shanghai style deep Fried Fish and Hot and Sour Soup with shredded Pork and beancurd.

Jin Ying is on level 1 and serves regional appetizers, a la carte, seafood and barbeque courses, dim sum and rice and noodle dishes.

The Northern Noodle House is located on the casino floor and is a great place to grab a bowl of noodles, dumplings, dim sum, barbeque meat and regional specialities from North and South China.

Located in the Boulevard you will find Treasure Paradise which provides Cantonese dim sum and authentic Shanghainese and Sichuanese wok fried dishes.

Chan Kee is in Soho and specialises in Roasted Goose dishes. You can choose Portuguese Fried Rice with Roasted Goose Meat, Goose Intestine in Black Bean Sauce and Chan´s Pot.

Song Hua Hu in Soho has over 170 different dishes including dumplings, steamed buns, noodles. Northern Chinese pancakes, Spareribs with Soy Sauce, Braised Pork, Spareribs with French Beans and Pancake with Chilli Shredded Pork and Mixed vegetables.

The Golden Pavilion on the casino floor offers a range of dishese that reflect the culinary heritage of Macau. Lobster, Wagyu and Abalone are some of the ingredients that are used to create the Portuguese influenced Macanese dishes, cha chaan teng classics and Cantonese stir fries.

Located on level 1, Herbal Treasures serves Seasonal Herbal Tonic Teas, Chinese Herbal Jellies, Double Boiled Soups, a range of desserts and healthy drinks.

If you love sashimi and sushi then head to the Edo Japenese Restaurant on level 1. With fresh ingredients and signature dishes with tasty flavour combinations you won’t regret it.

Hip Seng Seafood and Hotpot Restaurant has been ranked the Black Pearl Restaurant from 2018 to 2020. They serve delicious authentic Cantonese Cuisine, Japanese Barbecue and Dim Sum dishes.

Hongjiade Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup in Soho offers four different ginseng soups, Korean fried chicken and bibimbap dishes. Ginseng Chicken Soup is considered to be a great example of healthy Korean cuisine.

Gold Coast Oyster and Seafood has the best selection of seasonal and other varieties of oysters. They also offer a range of fresh seafood platters and caviar and can be found in Soho.

Louvre Cafe will transport you to Europe with its selection of cakes, pastries, sandwiches, salads and crepes.

Hei Kei Spiced Fried Crab is an Asian kitchen in Soho that serves boiled Dongfeng snails, steamed clams with dried mandarin peels, stir fried noodle oysters with peppers and stir frien noodles with clamms and crabs.

Also in Soho you can find Spanish Restaurant T is for Tapas. With a great selection of Iberico ham, chorizo, cheese, croquetas and foie gras tapas dishes that can be accompanied by Sangria, Sherry, Cava or Rioja for the ultimate Spanish experience.

Dynasty Restaurant is located on level 2 of Soho, has a range of Chongqing hot pot, Sichuan and Cantonese dishes that are tasty and filling.

The Flame bar has a great choice of fine wines and beverages and is located on the 2nd floor of Soho in the City of Dreams.

Nüwa Hotel

Lan is the chic lobby lounge where you can enjoy coffee and light snacks on the terrace, opt for some of the finest Japanese whiskeys and gins or indulge in a refreshing cocktail.

Morpheus Hotel

Michelin Star Chef Alain Ducasse owns two restaurants in the Morpheus Hotel. Alain Ducasse at Morpheus is a unique venue where you can indulge your tastebuds in some of the best in French gastronomy. The use of seasonal produce from the best small scale farms and line caught fish means that all the dishes have been executed to the highest standards.

Voyages creates bistro favourites with classic French flavours using modern cooking techniques. Popular dishes include Roasted French Chicken, Wagyu Beef Wellington Parisian Beef Tartare, Pâté en Croûte and Onion Soup. To end your meal in style why not try a Crème Caramel or Gran Marnier Soufflé. The Voyages Bar offers custom made drinks with a distinct twist and a wide range of cocktails.

Yi is a Chinese Restaurant that is on the 21st floor of the Sky Bridge in the Morpheus hotel. It offers Chinese cuisine that is served as a tasting menu and the degustation menu is inspired by the 24 solar terms of the Traditional Chinese Calendar and changes 12 times a year. Signature dishes include Yi´s Oven Roasted Lemongrass Pigeon, Steamed Bird´s Nest Dumpling, Hot and Sour Fish Maw Soup. Each dish can be accompanied by a tea, wine or liquor pairing.

French Pâtissier Pierre Hermé brings his iconic pastry creations to the Pierre Hermé Lounge in the Morpheus Hotel. These light and uniquely plated desserts can even be served tableside by the resident pastry chefs and are also available from breakfast and room service menus.

The Club Lounge is located in the Sky Bridge and is exclusively available for Villa, VIP and Prestige Suite guests. It features views of Macau, an extensive buffet and Asian and International a la carte dishes such as Veal and Morel Ravioli and the Morpheus Kobe Beef Burger. Freshly baked desserts are provided by the Pierre Hermé Lounge.

Countdown Hotel

The Bar at the Countdown Hotel offers healthy lunch options, delicious pastries and tasty coffees. It is a lovely place to relax and refresh during the day and in the evening offers inventive cocktails and a fun atmosphere.

The Wave is the poolside bar and sells a range of cocktails, snacks and barbeque dishes.

The Grand Hyatt Hotel

Beijing Kitchen has authentic Northern Chinese delicacies that are prepared in four kitchens. Here you can enjoy Peking Duck that has been cooked in wood fired ovens, dim sum and Chinese noodle dishes.

Mezza9 Macau is a unique restaurant that offers a dinner buffet experience that is said will evolve all five of your senses. You can watch the Chefs prepare the dishes and even ask them to make a meal that is tailor made for your personal tastes.

The Lobby Lounge has a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere and is a great place to enjoy some cakes, homemade chocolates and the famous Portuguese egg tart.

Casino Facilities

Club Cubic is a fabulous nightclub where you can dance the night away to music from international DJs. This two storey venue features a laser lit dance pool and a Gothic styled bar. There are also 5 VIP rooms where you and your friends can soak up the atmosphere from the crowd below.

The Boulevard is a two storey shopping centre where you can find the latest in Designer Fashion from some of the top names in the industry. There is also a bank and a great selection of Jewellery, Watches, Accessories, Beauty products and Fragrances from all over the World. Featured Designers include Calvin Klein, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Oakley, Emporio Armani, Bulgari, Cartier, Giorgio Armani, Omega, Dior, Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Alexander McQueen, Mont Blanc, Hugo Boss, Ray Ban, Clinqie, Calrins, Marc Jacob, Pandora, Estee Lauder, Michael Kors, Lancome, Yves Saint Laurent, Moschino, Swarovski, Tiffany & Co and Versace

The Bubble Fountain is a giant water sphere where you can relax and watch the water bubbling through the sphere before cascading down the sides of the globe into the pool below. This feature is located in the retail area.

Kids City is a large indoor play area that is separated into four different zones. Kids can ride the giant futuristic slide, enjoy DIY Art Workshops, explore the large soft play area and live become a superhero, prince or princess in the Dream Theatre. The Arcade Matrix has loads of virtual experiences and they can even reach the stars in the Bouncy Space.

“Art” is a collection of modern visual art that is on the 23rd floor of the Morpheus Hotel and showcases privately owned iconic art pieces. The “Good Intentions” large scale sculpture “Parent and Child” by Brooklyn artist KAWS is currently on display here.

Throughout the City of Dreams you can find many pieces of contemporary art that allow you to explore art in all its forms.
