Online casinos and sports betting sites licensed by Sweden's Spelinspektionen
The Swedish regulator's license (Spelinspektionen) for online casinos and gambling operators has been in effect since January 1, 2019, when Sweden's new Gambling Act came into force. Since then, all companies offering remote betting and gaming within Sweden must obtain and maintain the appropriate license.
To verify a casino's legality, go to the Spelinspektionen "Sök licens" page (https://www.spelinspektionen.se/sok-licens/; this page may not be accessible outside Sweden — if you are viewing the list from another country, use a Swedish VPN), and enter the operator's name or license number found on the casino's website. The system will instantly show the license status (active or suspended), its category (betting, casino, poker, lotteries), and expiry date. If the desired operator is not in the register or the license is invalid — it is unsafe to play there.
